Not until recently, I have never realized I have been a smoker for almost two-decades! A second-hand smoker that is. I do lunch with colleagues who smoke right on our faces everyday, standing around smokers while waiting for the bus and even when I was out for drinks at night. Even when eating out for breakfast, lunch and dinner, smokers are everywhere to be found in Malaysia.
Without realising, almost 3 hours of smoking session everyday INVOLUNTARILY, so how can we not exposed to getting all those diseases pictured on the cigarette boxes!
Smokers are less effected than second-hand innocent smokers.
The question really is why are smokers themselves are protected.
First of all, we all know that the smoke emitted into the air by any cigarettes is SO HARMFUL that authorities the World over had to place a mandatory FILTER on each stick. If the smoke is within health limits, filters will not be required, think about it!
Secondly, picture this. You are holding the a lit-up cigarette in between you fingers. Wind from any direction would only blow away from the smoke's source (i.e. the smoker). The smoker themselves will not be smelling unfiltered smoke and the poor innocent others around him will suffer.
Trust me, first-hand smokers themselves will smell fresh and clean even after smoking for hours in a day, while the poor innocent second-hand smoke victim would have his shirt stink with stale smoke involuntarily!
Everybody remember this!- We are smelling UNFILTERED smoke, while those selfish smokers are ignorantly enjoying FILTERED smoke.
To all you smokers, shame on you! I will continue to support and patronize restaurants, pubs and bars that are strictly non-smoking.
